The Ballyshaners Irish Festival in Alexandria

Join us on August 13 from 11:00AM to 7:00PM for a terrific day of celebrating Irish history and culture in Alexandria. This Irish Festival is a fundraiser for the Alexandria St. Patrick's Day Parade.


Many vendors will be on hand featuring Irish wares, crafts, jewelry, wonderful food, and community and commercial services. Musicians and Irish dancers will perform throughout the day. Please join us for a beautiful day at Waterfront Park! Beer sales and donations are the day's key fundraising opportunities.

Here is a tentative list of entertainers that will be performing throughout the day. These times are approximate and this list is subject to change.

Vendor instructions

Vendors, please note the following IMPORTANT instructions:

Volunteers will be on-site by 9:00AM to assist with unloading vehicles and carrying your supplies to your assigned space. Please utilize parking spaces along either edge of the park to unload your cars/trucks, then quickly move to a long term parking space so that other vendors can take advantage of those available unloading/loading parking areas.

Assigned vendor spaces will be distributed via email no later than August 11. All vendors must be set-up and ready to go by 11:00AM.

You will need to provide your own 10x10 canopies (larger if you have indicated that you need additional space). The canopies just be weighted down to prevent them blowing over in the event of wind. The City's Fire Department will be checking to make sure that canopies are safely secured.

You also must provide tables for your space.

Food vendors: Please make sure that you have provided your temporary food vendor application to the City of Alexandria's Department Of Health by July 20. Department of Health staff will be inspecting your areas beginning at 10:00. You cannot sell food until your temporary permit is finally approved on the day of the event.

Political party participants only may post signs around their allotted vendor space area. Political signs cannot be placed anywhere else around the park. While the park is public space, the Ballyshaners have full control over the park and its perimeter for the duration of the festival. This rule has been in place for many years. Candidates and/or their supporters are welcome to distribute information to interested festival attendees.
