The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, in conjunction with The Ballyshaners, will be hosting the annual FUN DOG SHOW at the Alexandria St. Patrick’s Parade!

The Fun Dog Show will be held at Market Square in front of City Hall on Saturday morning, March 3rd, 2018, starting at 10:30 am.

This year’s Hostess and Fun Dog Show Judge will be 3 time Emmy award winning journalist Peggy Fox, from WUSA channel 9.

Each of the winners will receive a 2018 “Pet” Troy Award Trophy, in honor of this year’s Grand Marshalls, Pat and Bernadette Troy. Then the dogs will report to the intersection of King Street and Pitt Street, and at 12:00 noon the dogs will kick off the Parade!

There will be local vendors with fun pet products for sale. Come and check it out Saturday Morning at 10:30, at Market square!

10:00 to 10:30
Vendors (around ten) to form up on Cameron Street eastbound sidewalk, on either side of the main door to City Hall.
Participant dogs and humans (around thirty) socializing about Market Square and Tavern Square.

Vendors move from Cameron Street side of City Hall to Market Square via Royal Street and Fairfax Street sidewalks.

Fun Dog show begins.

Fun Dog Show finishes, with the awarding of the “Pet” Troy Award Trophy.

11:45 to Noon
Dogs move from Market Square through Tavern Square courtyard to starting point at intersection of King Street and Pitt Street.

Dogs begin the parade behind the Banner of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. Proceed down King Street for two blocks to Fairfax Street, and then disburse to socialize among spectators.

12:15 pm
Classic Cars carrying dignitaries (Mayor, City Council members, etc.) proceed down King Street and deliver dignitaries to the reviewing stand at corner of King & Royal.

Military Pipes and Drum Corps is first unit in Division 1 to step off and proceed down King Street.
