Held annually on the first Saturday in March, the Parade has grown to being the largest one-day event in Old Town Alexandria. Featuring pipe bands, Irish dance schools, community groups, and a host of other musicians and performers. It is a fantastic day to spend with family or friends. The Parade steps off at 12:30. We hope you will come!

Exciting news for this year’s 39th Annual Alexandria St Patrick’s Day parade! This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 and will feature our Grand Marshal John Brennan, owner of Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Restaurant & Bar.
We hope you are willing and able to help support The Ballyshaners by placing an ad in this year's program. Not only do advertisements help fund the parade but the programs are also given away free to thousands of people along the parade route. As a reminder, The Ballyshaners, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. Once you have submitted your ad and payment, the Ballyshaners can provide you with the documentation you need to support your contribution for tax purposes.

$5,000 - Your logo on all parade advertising; a full-page, color ad in the parade program; two seats on the Grandstand on Parade Day; and a table for 10 at the Grand Marshal Dinner to be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at The Alexandrian Hotel.
$2,500 - Your logo on all advertising; a full-page, color ad in the parade program; and five seats at the March 6, 2020 Grand Marshal Dinner.
$1,000 - Your logo on all advertising; and a full-page, color ad in the parade program.

The Fun Dog Show precedes the Ballyshaners’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) will kick off the parade, and all friends, followers and former adopters are welcome to join the group to march, without or without their canine companions. March participants will meet at the intersection of King St. and Pitt St. at 12:30 p.m. to start off the parade!
“The Fun Dog Show is our first major event of the year,” said AWLA’s Executive Director Megan Webb. “The weather can sometimes be unpredictable, but that doesn’t stop our canine contestants from strutting their St. Paddy’s spirit for all of Alexandria to see.”
